McCoyver Moments

mc.coy.ver
/muh-koi-vur/ Noun.
A person who is resourceful and finds inventive uses of common household items.
A bit of a tightwad, but able to act effectively or imaginatively in difficult situations.

No, not this guy...
But close.
Meet McCoyver:
"Extension ladder not on hand, no problem.  Good thing I have my trusty broom."

"Wait a minute, are these plants trying to grow together?"
"That'll stop 'em."

"Oh, there's a hole in the air mattress and we're in the middle of nowhere...
...a little duct tape and a blow torch should do just fine."

"Why would I ever waste 35 cents on a plastic tray when a plate works just as well?"
"And while I'm at it, we don't need any stakes for these guys...
...my targets will do just fine, thank you."

"Hey look, there's a lizard!  I'll just grab this weed here and make lasso real quick."

"Plumb bob? Don't make me laugh.  Mel's yarn and a drill bit gets the job done."
Though I've been amazed (and sometimes frightened) by the McCoyver moments I am privileged to witness first hand, I just recently realized the need to document them.  Have no fear, I am convinced there will be plenty more McCoyver moments coming our way.  Yes, it is quite frustrating when my kitchen utensils, shampoo bottles, shoe laces, etc...go missing, only to be found days later in the oddest of predicaments.  However, I really can't complain when he works so hard on our home, whether it's building a mantle, fixing my many mistakes, or catching lizards, he always gets the job done.
McCoyver moments and all, I think he's a keeper.
